Xenobiology: Easter Sunday

Xenobiology: Easter Sunday:
"Sarah was sleeping. Officer Cairo was making preparations to leave. Indigo and I were watching feeds from the few external cameras we had left. In the distance dark clouds leapt from desolated patches of ground to find new prey.
Individually, their bodies were less than half a meter long, large, but there are larger polychimeric predators ('Grasshoppers'). They have two long thin legs they used
for jumping, and broad, seemingly fixed silvery wings. And teeth. Big teeth."

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 23

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 23:
"The next afternoon a nurse came in and detached the I.V drip from Tallow’s arm. Twenty minutes later his shoulder began to ache, sending waves of throbbing pain along the center of his back and into his neck through the Trapezius muscles. The spasms continued through his deltoids and along his triceps into his forearm muscles and to a lesser extent rolled in slow waves along his right pectoral. His fingers started to tingle like they did when his carpal tunnels started acting up and he felt his hands begin to bunch like a half formed fist. The friendly German doctor had stopped by earlier in the morning and told Tallow that such discomfort was to be expected for a day or two, but in his drug-blissed state Tallow had waved off the warning."

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 22

"Tallow came to in the ambulance, face down on a gurney. His entire back was numb and he couldn’t move his fingers. He could hear the voice of a German man coming from the front seat."

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 21

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 21:
"The limo drove past the Brandenburg Gate without slowing down. Tallow watched the illuminated columns drift past the car’s tinted windows, feeling the odd sensation he often felt when he saw Europe’s historic monuments. He’d so often encountered historic Europe in simulated environments - digital landscapes set in a reconstructed past - that he had trouble accepting the reality of the actual objects. The technical term, which he’d learned during his brief interest in Game Psychology, was Temporal Reintegration Syndrome. "

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 20

Harvey 0.02: Chapter 20:
"Tallow left his body lying in bed with Guster wrapped tightly around it, her hair cascading across his chest. If he was lucky he’d be back offline before she woke up and knew he had gone."
